Janine “Nina” Susan Martin

Nina Martin ,67, of Fishersville, VA passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 6, 2022 in her home in Fishersville. Nina was born in Cleveland, OH to Josephine and Nicholas Costello on March 22, 1955. After completing high school at Eastlake North High, Nina fell in love with Thomas Martin and married him at the age of 21. Together, they started a family the same year.

Many people will know Nina as a hairdresser or from her work as a dental assistant in Dr. Berbes’ office in Waynesboro, VA. Her favorite occupation however, was being a grandmother. Both her grandsons will attest to her indeed being “the best Mina ever”.

Nina also loved having her feet in the sand at the beach, singing and dancing with friends, and spending as much time as possible with her immediate and extended family. Nina was happiest when she could show her love by sharing food, hugs, and laughter with the people she loved. Her kind ways of caring will be deeply missed.

Nina will be greeted in heaven by her parents, Jo and Nick; her brother, Ray and her granddaughter, Anna.

 Here, she will be missed by her husband, Tom Martin; her daughter, Beth Martin and wife, Penny Pruitt; her son, Thomas Martin, II and wife, Steffi Winter-Martin, PhD; her two grandsons, Miko and Timo Martin; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bruce Gemmell; her sister and brother-in-law, Evie and Louie Fatica; her brother, Joe Costello and wife, Renada; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11. 2022 at 6pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville, VA with Pastor April Cranford officiating.
