JANET BLAIR
Janet Lynn Blair 64 of Afton, Virginia departed this life on December 9, 2024. Janet is also preceded in death by her father, Samuel McCauley. She is survived by her mother, Charlene Mildred Blair of Waynesboro, Virginia; two sisters, Paula Blair of Waynesboro, Virginia, Nicole McCauley of Avon, Virginia; two brothers Sammy McCauley and Johnny McCauley both of Stuarts Draft, Virginia.; two nieces and nine nephews.
Janet's passion for helping students with special needs led her to pursue a career in special education. She was dedicated to making a difference in the lives of her students and ensuring they received the support and resources they needed to succeed. Her time at Virginia State University provided her with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in her role as an educator. Throughout her time in the Fluvanna school system, Janet made a lasting impact on her students, colleagues, and community. Her commitment to providing quality education for all students was evident in everything she did, and she was respected and admired by all who knew her. Janet's dedication to her profession and her students made her a valuable asset to the Fluvanna school system, and she will always be remembered for her unwavering passion for teaching and helping others.
In addition to her career, Janet was also a devoted member of Union Baptist Church in Afton, Virginia. She found great joy in singing in the choir and participating in various church activities. Her faith was an important part of her life, guiding her actions and bringing her comfort during difficult times.
Janet's family was a large and close-knit one, with gatherings often filled with laughter, love, and shared memories. Omar Blair was always there to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear, while Tiffany Hubbard brought a sense of fun and spontaneity to every occasion. TeNeil Blair, Jess Goins, and Keith McCauley added their own unique personalities and perspectives to the mix at all times, creating a rich tapestry of relationships that Janet cherished deeply. Janet knew that she was truly blessed to have such a diverse and supportive group of loved ones by her side. Janet cherished the memories they shared together. Janet's legacy lives on through her family and friends, who will always hold her in their hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 13th at 11:00 at St. James Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Virginia.
