Jane Arnold (McManamay) Byrd

Jane Arnold (McManamay) Byrd, 84, of Staunton, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at the Shenandoah Nursing Home and Rehab. She was born in Warm Springs on May 19, 1942, a daughter of the late Guy Arnold and Grace (Brinkley) McManamay.

Jane worked as a homemaker and babysitter of many young children. She loved the outdoors and was an avid gardener. Jane was strong in her faith in her Lord and Savior. She will be remembered for her kindness and friendly nature often opening her heart and home to people. She never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee Byrd; infant daughter, Margaret Jane Byrd and brother, Johnny McManamay.

Survivors include her daughter: Michelle Hupman; son, Scott Byrd and wife, Angie; grandchildren: Caleh Gaylor and her husband, Robert, Samantha Byrd, Kamyron Byrd and wife, Taylor and numerous other grandchildren ; as well as many beloved great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
