James (Jim) Edward Weatherholtz, Jr. age 66, of Broadway, Virginia, passed away peacefully
from Stage IV cancer at his home on June 1, 2021.
Jim was born in Arlington, Virginia to James Edward Weatherholtz, Sr. and Evelyn Madeline
Gregg on August 3, 1954. He grew up in Centreville, Virginia. Jim married Sara Jean
(Crossman) Weatherholtz on June 24, 1977 in Fairfax, Virginia. Jim worked for Local 132
Carpenters Union and worked in Palm Beach as a former carpenter then became an
Independent Contractor in 1987 in the Shenandoah Valley, where he and Sara built dozens of
single family homes over 20 years.
Jim always enjoyed spending time with friends and family at the yearly bike events in Daytona
Beach, Florida in addition to the trips to go deep sea fishing with his daughters and
granddaughter. He made several trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City with family. These trips
are our fondest memories of being together.
We will surely miss his sense of humor and the fun times we all had together.
Jim is preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Dorrie Weatherholtz Keller.
Jim is survived by his wife, Sara Weatherholtz, his two daughters, Allison Crawford and Nicole
Weatherholtz, and five grandchildren, Ciana, Jarek, Jaci, Lily and Jett.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Sentara RMH and Sentara Hospice for
caring for Jim as well as all of our friends and family who have extended their love and support
over the past 21 months.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be announced in the coming weeks.
