James Robert Lineberger

James Robert Lineberger (Jim) passed away on May 6, 2024, in Staunton, Virginia.

Jim was born in Orlando, Florida, to Robert Boger Lineberger and Mary Mendenhall Lineberger on June 30, 1946. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1964 and the University of Florida in 1968. He married Kathy Louise Krausman on June 13, 1970, in Holly Hill, Florida.

Jim held many jobs, from farm hand to private investigator. His primary career was insurance adjusting, and he was the owner of Linwood Claim Service in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He volunteered at schools and libraries and was a guardian ad litem. His love for life extended into his hobbies, including woodworking, photography, hiking, and kayaking.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife, Kathy; sons, Robert Lineberger and Richard Lineberger (Adrianne); daughter, Deena Warner (Matthew); brothers, David Lineberger, Lewis Lineberger, and William Scott Lineberger; sister, Judith Arrington; grandchildren, Dorian Lineberger, Nora Lineberger, Owen Warner, and Thomas Warner.

A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with the Reverend Doctor Amy Fetterman officiating. His final resting place will be Camp Linn Haven in Linville, North Carolina.
