Irving James “Irv” McMahon, 58, of Fishersville, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 10, 2022. He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois, to Edward Bramwell and Barbara Jean (Massey) McMahon on September 26, 1963.
Irv was a 1982 graduate of Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, Virginia. He was a line haul truck driver for Old Dominion Freight Lines when he was diagnosed with metastatic renal cell cancer in October 2020. Irv was a simple, honest, hard working man with a big heart and an easy laugh. His interests were many: cornhole, bowling, golf, riding his Harvey Davidson, driving his Corvette and more recently woodworking. Family and friends were important to him and he never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed but changed all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his father in 1988.
He is survived by the love of his life, Joyce Skaggs McMahon of Fishersville; his sons, Shawn McMahon of Stuarts Draft and Mitch McMahon of Staunton; stepson, Chad Jackson of Williamsburg, Virginia; his mother, Barbara McMahon; sister, Dorothy Rumsey (Michael) of Warner Robins, Georgia; nephews, Justin Rumsey and Aaron Rumsey; his second mom, Jackie Parr, and Inkle Bob and Aunt Weez Shirk.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Corbin officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
A celebration of life cook-out will be held at a later date.
