Hugh T. Wood, Jr.

Hugh T. Wood, Jr., 85, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Shenandoah House, Fishersville.  He was born November 8, 1936 in Staunton, son of the late Hugh T. Wood, Sr. and Thelma Anderson Wood.

Hugh was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. He retired as a Supervisor with AMP Harrisonburg with 17 years of service; he then worked at Augusta Health for 10 years.  He was a member of Wayne Hills Baptist Church and The Gideons International. Hugh enjoyed golf, athletics and travel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Grayson Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Wood; son, Mike Wood of Staunton; step-children, Cindy Quesenbery (Gary) of Waynesboro and Scott Harris of Salem; three grandchildren, Grayson Isley (Andy) of Burlington , NC, Sara Manolas (Spiro) of Annandale, VA and Andrew Quesenbery of Waynesboro, VA; great-grandchildren, Elijah Lawson, Gus Manolas and a special great-granddaughter to be born in May, Lily Isley.

A Memorial Service will be held at Wayne Hills Baptist Church, 877 Ladd Rd., Waynesboro at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 30th conducted by the Reverend Dr. Jamie McClanahan, Pastor, with condolences by Tom Almarode. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
