Guy Barton

Guy Leslie Barton, 66, of Waynesboro, passed away June 19, 2021, in Fishersville; he was born August 11, 1954.  Guy was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Barton, two sons, Dwayne Barton and Delon Barton and a sister, Desiree Barton.

Guy is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed playing soccer, coaching and meeting new people. He was employed with Augusta Health and the United States Postal Service as a Floor Technician. 

He is survived by his wife, Evette Barton; his children, Samantha and Willie Agee III of Nashville, Tennessee, Travis and Zuheil Barton of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, Shianne and Leonel Ramos of Atlanta, Georgia, Kanaan Barton of Waynesboro, Virginia, Guy Barton, Jr. of Waynesboro, Virginia, Jason Barton of Brooklyn, New York and Dalesta and Mayowa Opemuyi of London, England; his grandchildren, Lauren and Rachel, Elijah and Nehemiah, Javier, Kennedi and Jeremiah, Eliyaneh and Elijah; his sisters and brothers, Paula, Deborah, Jennifer, Richard, George and Donald and a host of other family members and friends.

“And should we die before our journey’s through, Happy day! All is well! We then are free from toil and sorrow too. With the just we shall dwell!”

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 24, 2021, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2825 Jefferson Lane, Waynesboro conducted by Bishop Grant Sanders.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Augusta Health – Shenandoah House and the Augusta Health 3rd Floor and Emergency Room staff.
