Gretchen Latimer, 71, of Nellysford, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2023 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville, Virginia.
Gretchen was born in Youngstown, Ohio to David and Joan Siedenburg on March 7, 1952. She was raised in Homer, New York and was a graduate of Homer High School. She studied theater at St. Lawrence University and was an accomplished stage actress. She married John Latimer on September 17, 1977 in Cortland, New York, and they raised their family in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Gretchen was a docent at the Smithsonian Institution and was an active member of Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church.
Gretchen is survived by her husband, John; her two sons, Andrew and Patrick, and her eight grandchildren: George, Winston, Hazel, Tucker, Hannah, Penny, Mia, and Charlie.
The family will conduct their own private memorial in celebration of Gretchen’s life.
