Glenn Parker Obituary

Glenn W. “Dick” Parker, 88, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord, Friday, November 8, 2019 at Augusta Health, Fishersville.  He was born September 9, 1931 in Sarton, West Virginia, son of the late Earl and Pauline Parker.

Dick was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and is a longtime member of Valley Baptist Church, Stuarts Draft, where he served as a Deacon.  His lifelong trade was that of a tool and die maker. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Derick Arbaugh and his granddaughter, Haley Parker.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sue Parker; his daughter, Leigh Ann Arbaugh and her husband, David of Stuarts Draft; his son, Richard Parker and his wife, Hope of Mansfield, Texas; his grandchildren, Skyler Arbaugh and his wife, Alexis of Waynesboro, Calyn Parker of Mansfield, Texas and Zachary Parker; his brother, C. C. Parker and his wife, Ann of Union, West Virginia; his three sisters, Doris Dent of New Jersey, Harriet Kirby of Union, West Virginia and Nettie Short and her husband, Bill of Rocky Mount, Virginia and a number of nieces and nephews and many special friends.

A Celebration of Life, with U. S. Navy Military Honors, will be held at 6:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Valley Baptist Church, 26 Sunny Slope Lane, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477, conducted by Pastor Frank Hall. The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.
