Geraldine Gertrude Mitchell

Geraldine (Struempler) Mitchell, 83, recently of Stuarts Draft, VA, passed away on January 3, 2022.  She will be dearly missed and remembered with love.

Geraldine was born in Oconto, Nebraska, on November 30, 1938 and was married to Gary W. Mitchell on December 27, 1959. She graduated from Cozad High School and then received her RN from  Methodist School of Nursing and her BSN from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  She practiced as an RN in Omaha for over 30 years.

She is survived by her husband Gary; her children:  Shareene (John) Berti, Maureen (Mitch) Hammer, Daneene (Richard Mills) Mitchell, Steve (Amy) Mitchell, and Dawn (Joel) McCray; her grandchildren:  Peter (Becky)and Matt Berti, Lee Tolliver II, Rose (Sam) Burt, Lewis and Kelly Hammer, Emilie, Erin, and Jacob Mills, Abigail, Benjamin, and Luke Mitchell, and Nathan and Sarah McCray; her great grandchildren: Ellie and Jack Berti. She is survived by her siblings Ronald Struempler, Adele Chandler, and Elsie Cyriacks. 

Memorial services will be held jointly for Geraldine with her husband, Gary, on Friday, February 11, at the Buffalo Lutheran Church, Lexington, NE at 11 a.m. Both Gary and Geraldine will be laid to rest at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Oconto following the service.
