George Abbott Wade

George Abbott Wade, 80, of Fishersville, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021 in Fishersville.  He was born August 19, 1940 in Bath County, son of the late Earl Jacob Wade and Lennie Pauline Fertig Wade.

George was a graduate of Wilson High School and retired in 2002, after 40 years of service, as a Network Telecommunications Manager with CFW.  In 1962, after 4 years of service, he was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Corporal. He was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church and Westwood Baptist Church.  He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting and fishing.

The family would like to thank Augusta Health, Dr. Adam Campbell and the Shenandoah House.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Gerald Wade and Ed Wade and his sisters, Virginia Hite, Anna Wood and Juanita Wade.

Survivors include his wife, Judith Perrine Wade; his son, Michael Wade (Jackie Shawver) of Hot Springs, VA; two grandchildren, Evan Wade and Maddie Wade and one sister, Kathryn East of Verona.

Graveside services, with Military Honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, conducted by Mr. Donald Perrine.  Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Evan Wade, Walter Wade, David Wade, Billy Beech, Carl Hughes and Richard Gruver.
