Gena Grace Crawley

Gena Grace Crawley, 76, of Staunton, VA, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 26, 2019 at Shenandoah House, Fishersville.

She was born on August 10, 1943 in Tecumseh, MI. Gena is predeceased by her parents, Glenn Lewis Wilson and Bernice Lorene Smith Wilson; her brother, Buddy Wilson and her husband, Theodore Crawley. She was married to her husband in 1984 until his death in 1995.

She in worked at J.C. Penney in retail, and in administration at Belk department store, retiring in 1997.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Staunton and led monthly bible study at her apartment complex for seven years. Gena enjoyed bible studies, reading, and painted watercolors in her younger years. 

Gena is survived by brother, Jerry Wilson and wife, Diane; her three nieces, Mary Faith Dudley and Jeff, Angela Rey and Gabe, Lindsey Wilson; stepson, Jason Crawley and his family of Richmond, VA; special friends Paul and Linda Sweet, Bruce and Christina Delp, and AJ.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to UVA HOPE of Fishersville, Shenandoah House and Hospice of the Shenandoah.

Family night at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr. Fishersville, VA 22939, Thursday, August 29th from 6-8pm. A Celebration of Life Service on Friday, August 30th at 1pm at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 521 James Ave. Waynesboro, VA 22980. The service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Traylor, Pastor Mark Finch, Pastor Allen George, Pastor Chris Guyer and Bro. Stan Cordell. Interment will be at Augusta Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of the Shenandoah.
