Gary Lawrence Burns

Gary Lawrence Burns, 69, beloved father, grandfather and friend of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 23, 2021.

He was born on November 16, 1951 in Waynesboro to the late Charles L. Burns and the late Inez K. Burns.

He was a long time employee of the former Virginia Metalcrafters. He was a car enthusiast; his favorite hobby was collecting and putting together die cast models. To know him was to love him. He always had a smile on his face, a joke to tell and he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Burns and fiancé, Zachary Miller of Waynesboro and Kimberly Kreusch and partner, Tommy Thorton of New Hope; brother, David Burns and his wife, Rhiz of Waynesboro; sister, Sandra Ramsey and her husband, Roger of Fishersville; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Alexis, Cedrych and Preston.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, the mother of his children, Doris Burns and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family expresses a very sincere thank you to his special nieces, Cindy Messer for her love and her time taking care of him for the last eight years.

There will be no formal visitation. Those who wish may pay their respects and view Gary on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro. (Those attending are required to wear mask and follow social distancing)

Pallbearers will be Zack Miller, Tommy Thornton, Jeff Messer, Cedrych, Preston Miller, Nathan Kreusch, Alexis Kreusch and Gene Mitchell.
