Fannie F. Diggs Wells, 94 of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at her home. She was born October 17, 1927 in Nelson County, daughter of the late Charles Samuel Diggs, Sr. and Mealie Frances Awkward Diggs.
Fannie retired from Virginia Panel. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Waynesboro, where she served in the Kitchen Ministry and Union Baptist Church, Avon where she a member of the combined choir and the CDDs.
In addition to he parents she was preceded in death by husband, Randolph E. Wells. Sr.; her son, George Wells; her daughter, Rebecca Ann Wells and five brothers, Paul Diggs, Charlie Diggs, Jr., Bob Diggs, Sidney Diggs and Linwood Awkward and six sisters. Blanche Giles, Cora Strother, Vivian Moore, Mary Dillard, Buelah Clark and Elnora Diggs.
Survivors include her sons, Randolph Wells, Jr. of Orion, Michigan, Russell Wells and Roscoe Wells of Waynesboro: her granddaughter, Tiffany Wells, whom she raised. two daughters, Elizabeth Powell( Chris) and Paula Wells of Waynesboro: three sisters, Ruby Dillard, Bernice (Alvin) Jackson and Allene Jackson, (John Russell all of Waynesboro; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends..
The family would like to acknowledge her caregivers, Manager Paula Wells, Stephanie Wells, Malloree Calloway and Sierra Wells. Additionally, the family would like to thank doctors, Dr. Donald Lee, Dr. Lane and Dr. Heck, the Hospice Nurse and Chaplain and Caregiver Coordinator, Chastity.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 234 Shiloh Avenue, Waynesboro conducted by The Rev. Dr. Waren Dawkins. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro. Please note: the family respectfully requests that those attending the service wear a mask.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 A.M. until the hour of the service.
