Ezra James Bennett

Ezra James Bennett, 18, of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Ezra was born on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 in Fishersville. He graduated from Waynesboro High School, Class of 2021. Ezra enjoyed hanging out with his friends, playing video games, skateboarding, baseball, and was an avid animal lover. He will be remembered as a Free Spirit.

Ezra was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Barbara A. Branch; his uncle, Robert J. Bennett; his grandfather, Jerry Bennett and his grandmother, Linda C. Pickwoad.

He is survived by his father, Christopher Bennett; his mother and step-father; Jessica and Ryan Pickwoad; his siblings: Nolan Bennett, Payton Pickwoad, Finley Pickwoad, and Kaylee Bennett; his maternal great-grandfather, James Branch; his maternal grandparents, Jerry and Comie Branch; his paternal grandpop, Mike Pickwoad and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, from 1pm until 2pm at Bridge Christian Church, 1275 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, VA 22939. A memorial service will follow at 2pm, with Pastor Todd Brown officiating.

Memorial Contributions, in Ezra’s Honor, may be made to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, 1001 Mount Torrey Road, Lyndhurst, Virginia 22952.
