Evelyn Elaine (Harris) Tomlin Fitzgerald

Evelyn Elaine (Harris) Tomlin Fitzgerald, 81, formerly of Raphine, VA, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2022, one month shy of her 82^nd birthday at Augusta Nursing and Rehab in Fishersville, VA, where she had been a resident since July 2021. Mrs. Fitzgerald was born on October 13, 1940 in Jefferson County, WV,  a daughter of the late Roy B. and Grace C. Harris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers: Roy B., Jr., Harold, Kenny, Homer, Roger, and Carl; sisters, Marie and Faye. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne W. Tomlin and her second husband of 38 years, Sherwood N. Fitzgerald.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Darrell W. Tomlin and wife, Desiree of Crimora, VA, William L. Tomlin and wife, Deborah of Ruckersville, VA, and Michael Tomlin of Raphine, VA; five grandchildren: Destony Tomlin, Darrell Tomlin, Jr., Haley Stacy, Skilar Stacy, and Tristan Tomlin; two great grandchildren; a special niece, Sherry H. Maddox; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life/ family night will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.

A private burial will be held at a later date at Haines Chapel in Montebello, Virginia.
