Ellen Ann Murnane

Ellen Ann Murnane, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2022. She was one of six children of Frances and John Murnane. Her parents and her youngest sibling, Jimmy predeceased her. She is survived by siblings: John, Marie, Margaret and Pat; her nieces Emily, Abby, Amy, Jennifer, Megan and nephews: David, Jeffrey, Patrick, Michael and Cory as well as many cousins and dear friends.

Ellen was described by her closest friend, Wendy, as 'an eclectic spirit who brought both broad smiles and head scratching moments to those who knew her.'

Ellen loved being an aunt and carried a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews as well as her 'adopted' families.

She was a graduate of McLean High School as well as the University of Virginia and has many lifelong friends from those experiences.

She worked for more than 30 years at the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center and had a passion for her students and a love for her co-workers there.

A Celebration of Life for Ellen will be held at the Wilson Workforce and Rehabilitation Center, 365 Hornet Rd, Fishersville, VA, on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 11am until 1pm.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in her name, be shared with the  Augusta Health Foundation-Hospice of the Shenandoah, PO Box 1000, Fishersville VA 22939 , or any animal non-profit of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.
