Edward Carl Danielson

Edward “Carl” Danielson, 79, of Fishersville, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at Augusta Health.  He was born in Washington D.C. on September 17, 1942, a son of the late Edward Benjamin Danielson of Chicago, IL and Martha (Martin) Blount Danielson of Lynchburg, VA.

Carl graduated from Suitland Senior High School in Suitland, MD. He proudly served in the United States Naval Air Reserves for 10 years as an Electronics Technician. Carl was a member of many organizations: the Valley Mustang Club for 15 years, the American Legion, the NRA and local shooters’ clubs, and Wayne Hills Baptist Church; where he taught Sunday school.  Working on and collecting antique cars, especially Mustangs, and shooting guns were a few of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Critzer; granddaughter, Ashley Critzer; three sisters and one brother.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Mary F. (Foote) Danielson; daughters: Dawn Meadows and husband, Ronnie of Stuarts Draft, Debra Strickler and husband, Buck of Lyndhurst, and Dana Havern and husband, Dennis of Chesterfield; five grandchildren: Jessica Funk and husband, Brad of Stuarts Draft, Mary Beth Critzer of Staunton, Danielle Meadows of Stuarts Draft, Madison Critzer of Stuarts Draft, and Brody Havern of Chesterfield; as well numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Wayne Hills Baptist Church, 877 Ladd Road, Waynesboro, VA 22980 and where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m.

Family and friends are welcome to visit the Danielson Residence to express condolences.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Carl’s memory to the Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, C/O the Augusta Health Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff with Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah for their loving care of Carl and his family.
