Dorothy L. "Mrs. Dot" Fitch

Dorothy L. Fitch “Ms. Dot” passed on to the next life on November 16, 2023.  

Ms. Dot retired from Genicom Corp and spent her retirement enjoying visits with family and friends.  She was an avid gardener who spent many hours among her flowers in her beautiful yard.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Fitch; sons, Larry and Derek; parents James and Lilly Perkins; brother, James Perkins; sister, Louise Brooks and grandson, Nicholas.

She is survived by sons, David Fitch (spouse, Denise), Darrell Fitch (spouse, Flo); and Jeffrey Adam Fitch; granddaughter, Kandice Fitch; and numerous loved cousins; nieces and nephews.

She will be sorely missed until we see her again.

Special thanks to nieces: Sydney Brooks, Synthia Brooks, and Sylvia Brooks; Thomas Davis; Deborah Allen; Delores Washington; Lillie Walters and Pansy Wilmott, who were dedicated family and friends in caring for her well being. 

Additionally, we would like to thank all the people that knew Dot, for being good friends and especially everyone from Shiloh Baptist Church, that have been so good over the years to all of us in the Fitch family.

A funeral services will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr, Fishersville, VA 22939, by Reverend Byron Woods. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Active pallbearers will be James E. Archie,III, Corey Redd, Robert Green,  Samuel “S.A.” Williams, Jeffrey Adam Fitch, and Levi Brooks.

 A Repass will be held following the burial, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 234 Shiloh Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980 by Reverend Dr. Warren B. Dawkins. All food and drink should be taken to Shiloh Baptist Church.

Viewing will be held at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, from 6pm until 8pm on Friday, November 24, 2023

All flowers should be sent to the funeral home.

Cards may be sent to the funeral home or taken to Shiloh Baptist Church to be read at the Repass.
