Donald Wade Fisher, 77, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024. He was born October 19, 1947, in Waynesboro, son of the late Thomas Austin Fisher and Mary Austin Fisher.
Donnie, who was nicknamed “Boone”, was a Waynesboro High School graduate and worked at Kroger as a Grocery Clerk for over 20 years. He lived a quiet, peaceful life, to himself, but he loved his family and his sports. He was a fan of the New York Yankees, the Indianapolis Colts and old country music. You could count on him joking around and giving you a hard time but would also give you the shirt off his back. Rides in the mountains and enjoying a good meal with family were some of his favorite pastimes.
Donnie will be missed by his family, but they are truly thankful that he is no longer suffering and that he is reunited with his with his beloved parents.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald W. Fisher and his sister, Debra G. Huffman.
He is survived by his sister, Brenda S. Fitzgerald, of Lyndhurst and numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M., Sunday, November 17, 2024 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
