Debra “Bubber” Gail Huffman of Waynesboro VA passed away peacefully on November 9, 2021. She was born to the late Thomas Austin Fisher and Mary Austin Fisher on July 17, 1957. She attended Waynesboro High School. Debra was a nurturer and worked most of her adult life in long term care facilities. She worked at District Home until they closed permanently and Avante until 2004. Her compassion for her patients went above and beyond. She was the primary caregiver for her parents when they became ill. Debra cared for many and did what she could with little in return. She was a big kid at heart, she loved all children and cared for them as if they were her own. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Debbie enjoyed the beach, rock music, cats, and Native American culture.
She was survived by her sister, Brenda Fitzgerald; her brother, Donald Fisher; her brother-in-law Jerry Huffman; her sister-in-law Hilda Fisher; special niece Stephanie Crespo (wife Melanie) and their two children Hayden and Saylor; along with many other nieces, nephews and special friends. She also leaves behind her special companion, her cat Boo Boo. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hunter Huffman; brother Ronald Fisher; brother-in-law Eldridge “Ricky” Fitzgerald.
Per Debra’s request she will be cremated. The family will receive friends at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home on Sunday, November 14, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M and where a memorial service will be held in the chapel at 2:00 P.M.
