David Junior Perry

David Junior Perry, 85, of Afton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

He was born on January 29, 1935 in Virginia to the late Leonard Perry and the late Alice Rhodes Perry.

David was a Veteran of the US Army, retired from Dupont after 35 years of service and a member of Afton Chapel.

The family extends a special Thank You to the doctors and staff on 4 South ICU at UVA.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty D. Perry; sisters, Elsie, Agnes, Georgie and Mary and a brother, James.

He is survived by his children, Kimberly (Mike) Scott, Nathan (Cheryl) Perry, Wilma Bradley, David (Sherry) Perry and Crystal Perry; step daughter, Lisa Hiveley; sister, Betty Perry and a brother, Robert (Joyce) Perry.

He was a loving grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He was also survived by a his companion, Bea Sheffield and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may pay their respect from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Augusta Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Scott Campbell. Those attending are required to wear face mask and follow social distancing.

Pallbearers will be Michael Scott, Harold Bradley, III, Nathan Perry, Jr., Travis Bradley, Joshua Bradley, Dennis Taylor, Sean Scott, Cody Taylor and Hunter Sipe.
