DAVID GRANGER DAVIS, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather died at the age of 83 on December 8, 2020 at Augusta Health, Fishersville, VA. He was born September 8, 1937 in Thomasville, GA to the late James Cheston and Sallie Elledge Davis. He had a large family made up of fifteen siblings. Mr. Davis enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in June of 1955 where he proudly served our country for 4 years before being honorably discharged. On January 25, 1958 he married the love of his life, Beverly. Dave and his wife were sole proprietors of a barbershop on Telegraph Rd. in Alexandria, VA. He then drove for Metro, formerly AB&W Transit Company, for years before retiring in 1995. A man of many talents, Dave enjoyed woodworking and had a love for the outdoors including hunting, fishing, and golfing which he passed on to his family. He loved to tell stories of his life, which also helped him relate to many people. He was known and loved for his sense of humor and wit that would brighten anyone’s day.
He was blessed and loved by his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Beverly (née Wiberg); Three sons: Mark (Linda), Dan, and Daryl; Two grandsons: Erik (Tiffany) and Adam (Sydney); Four great grandchildren whom he adored: Aubrey, Boone, Sloane, and Briana. He is also survived by his brother Douglas Davis and his sister Sallie Hornsby, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
Dave was loved by many and will be greatly missed but there is joy, hope, and comfort in knowing he is at peace with The Lord.
A celebration of Dave’s life will be determined at a later date.
