Darren Gundry

Darren Gundry, 58, of Waynesboro passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at Augusta Health. He was born on an Air Force base in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 18, 1963, a son of the late Al Gundry and Shirley Propes.

Darren worked as a warehouse worker and most recently a mechanic. He greatly enjoyed teaching his youngest boys, Caleb and Michael, about his love of baseball and football. Spending time with loved ones and being outdoors were a few of his favorite hobbies.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Amy Keller of Louisiana, Jonathan Gundry of Missouri; Darren Allemand of Louisiana; Lauren Gundry of Texas, Trevor Gundry of New Hampshire, Brianna Gundry of Waynesboro, Samantha Gundry of Tennessee, Caleb and Michael Gundry both of Waynesboro; Darren’s partner for 13 years and mother of Caleb and Michael, Towanna Thompson; 11 grandchildren; siblings: Al Gundry of Pennsylvania; Anthony Propes of Louisiana, Daneen  Bucknerof Kansas, Rebecca Peyerk of Louisiana, and Trish Pigford of Louisiana; Towanna’s family; as well as extended family member and friends.

A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Coyner Springs Park, 2091 Lyndhurst Rd, Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Augusta Health and the ICU for their loving care of Darren and his family.
