Clarence William Brooks

Clarence William “Billy” Brooks, 72, of Waynesboro, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023 at the Shenandoah Hospice House in Fishersville. He was born in Waynesboro on June 7, 1950, a son of the late John Franklin and Mary Lula (Moyer) Brooks.

Billy was a 1969 Waynesboro High School graduate. He worked for 47 years as a cabinet maker with H&W Building Design. Billy was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church. Fishing, hunting, and in his younger years, playing softball were a few of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Diane (Arrington) Brooks; son, Robert Brooks; and brothers, Charles Albert Brooks and Sidney Franklin Brooks.

Survivors include his sons, Brian Franklin Brooks and Troy Moyer Brooks; sister, Aloha Brooks Bruce and husband, Otho; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church,  901 Shenandoah Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980, with The Reverend Dr. Paul LaPrevotte officiating. 

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Billy's sister, Aloha Brooks Bruce, 1710 Eastside Highway, Waynesboro. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Billy’s memory to Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, 901 Shenandoah Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
