Cheryl Ann (Chesney) Adkins

Cheryl Ann (Chesney) Adkins, 66, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born in Union County, TN, on April 28, 1957, a daughter of the late Lee Roy and Marie (Savage) Chesney.

Cheryl worked as a Cafeteria Manager with the Waynesboro School System. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church in New Hope. Cheryl greatly enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved everyone with a mother’s heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marylin King and Rondie Chesney.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 32 years, Arnold Adkins, II; children, Whitney Adkins and Austin Adkins all of Stuarts Draft; siblings, Terry Chesney and wife, Brenda, Gerald Chesney, Gary Chesney and wife, Amy, and Donna Lawson and husband, Wayne all of Knoxville, TN; mother-in-law, Jean Adkins of Honea Path, SC; brother-in-law, Rev. Clarence Adkins and wife, Cynthia of Honea Path, SC;  aunt-in-law, Zelma Brumfield of Wayne, WV; best friend, Terri Spencer and husband, Mel of Waynesboro; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at New Life Baptist Church, 691 Battlefield Rd., New Hope, VA, with Pastor Corey Smallwood officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church, New Life Baptist Church,  P.O. Box 151, New Hope, VA 24469.
