Charlie Davis "Dave" Roop, Jr.

Charlie Davis “Dave” Roop, Jr., 64 of Waynesboro, went to his Heavenly Home on Monday morning, April 22, 2019, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded and remembered by his loved ones.  He was born October 1, 1954 in Radford, Virginia.

Dave had been employed by Wayn-Tex and WNI and retired from Averett Express. He loved travelling, camping and going to the beach and liked to share his adventures with everyone and always left them smiling.  He was loved and will be missed by many.

The family would like to express special appreciation to Augusta Health-Hospice of Shenandoah and Care Home Medical.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Davis Roop, Sr.

Survivors include his mother, Ophelia Roop of Waynesboro; his daughter, Chessie Lyle and husband, Nick and granddaughter, Phoenix of Waynesboro; his sister, Cathy Higgins and husband, David of Stevensville, Maryland and nephew, David Higgins and wife, Rebecca and their children, Addison and Jackson of Grasonville, Maryland; his brother Kendall Roop and wife, Tracy of Waynesboro and his beloved cats.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M., Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, where the funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel, conducted by Pastor Frank Hall.
