Charles Wayne Edwards, Sr.

Charles Wayne “Charlie” Edwards, Sr., 74, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 in Fishersville.

Charlie was born in Shelby, Mississippi on December 10, 1947. In Ovett, Mississippi on September 6, 1968 he married the love of his life for better or worse, Louise Walters, and they were married 53 short years. Charlie had worked for 55 years as a welder by trade and had several other trade jobs as well.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Dowd and Alice Lucille Edwards; brothers, Billy, Sydney, Douglas, and Tommy Edwards; sister, Dorothy Bishop; grandsons, Wesley C. Edwards and Charles Jacob “CJ” Edwards.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Louise (Walters) Edwards; son, Charles Wayne “Chuck” Edwards, II; daughter, Shannon (Edwards) Sterling; sisters, Virginia Aaronson, and husband, Ronald, and Paulette Jones; brother, Fred Allan Edwards; grandson, Keagan Edwards Sterling; granddaughter, Ember Louise Sterling; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and special family.

 A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Merle Dodson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

 A graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Augusta Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to please meet at the cemetery.
