Charles Wayne "Butch" Brooks, Sr.

Charles Wayne “Butch” Brooks, Sr., 79, of Waynesboro, passed away, Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Augusta Health – Shenandoah House, Fishersville.  He was born in Waynesboro, September 9, 1940, son of the late Crawford R. Brooks and Elizabeth Brooks.

Butch retired from Mathers Construction Company in 1992.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Crawford Alexander Brooks; his nephew, DeWayne Brooks and niece, Nina Burley.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda J. Brooks; his children, Charles “Chuck” Brooks and wife, Heidi Brooks of Greenville, Robin Brooks of Greenville, Tonya Wrenn and husband, W. C. Wrenn of Selma and Tony Brooks and wife, Angie Brooks of Crimora; his three siblings, Donald Brooks and wife, Eva of Waynesboro, Jean Johnson of Ruckersville and Barbara Baber of Stuarts Draft; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.  He will be dearly missed by his pet companion, “Big Boy”.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 4, 2020 in the chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Ethan Andrew Colvin. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 P. M. until 2:00 P.M., the hour of the service.
