Carolyn Tisdale Chaplin

Carolyn Tisdale Chaplin, 73, of Lyndhurst, passed away at her home on Friday, June 21, 2024.  She was born October 14, 1950 the daughter of the late Maynard Odie Tisdale and Arlene Daisy Tisdale.

Carolyn was a Certified Nursing Assistant and she served in home health care. Among her favorite interests were crocheting, knitting, working word search puzzles and listening to the sound of rain.  She enjoyed beach vacations and camping and she loved Owls.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Keith (Pete) Chaplin, her sister, Sandra Faye Shirley of Sherando and her brother-in-law, Barry Fralin of Crimora.

She is survived by her two daughters, Theresa (Tommy) Lipscomb of Waynesboro, Virginia and Debbie (David) Wilson of Piney River, Virginia; her three grandchildren, Tara Harris, Kayla Dooms and Lukas Wilson; her great-grandson, Xavier Lawson; her sister and brother, Wanda Fralin, of Crimora and J. T. (Nancy) Tisdale of Crimora; her brother-in-law, Eddie Shirley of Sherando; her nephews, Chad Shirley, M. C. Shirley both of Sherando and Brandon Fralin of Crimora; her best friends, Freda Hedrick and Barbara Patterson and her beloved dog, Titan.

The family says of Augusta Health – Hospice of the Shenandoah, “We can’t thank them enough for how good they were to Mom and to us!”

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association and the American Cancer Society.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the memorial service.
