Carol M. Black, 86, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at her home in Buena Vista, Virginia.
Carol was born on July 25, 1936 in Penfield, New York to the late Edward C. and Ella (Pike) Malcho. Carol graduated in the class of 1954 from Charlotte High School.
Carol met John on New Year’s Eve at a local dance. It was love at first sight.
She worked for RG&E. Later she worked at Woolworth's and at the Town Hall of Farmington, New York. She was a very active member with her church where she attended. She enjoyed hosting friends and family for picnics at their homes.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John R. Black; a son, Dennis E. Black; sisters, Dorothy VanderLyke and Edna
Nortier. Carol is survived by her children, David and Laurie (Price) Black, Suellen Black and Gary and Bonnie (Black) Fish; grandchildren, Joshua Fish, Jessica (Fish) Gernert, Emily (Black) Kempf, Caleb Fish, Abigail Black, Karabo Maretlane and Kabai Fabby Mohlatsane; great grandchildren, Samuel, Matthew, and Allison Gernert, Hannah Fish and Ellie Kempf;
