Betty Harman Obituary
Betty S. Harman, 92, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on November 11, 2021, at her home in Stuarts Draft.
Betty was born in Afton, to the late Silas Leroy Skillman and Fannie Ruth Deitrick on August 23, 1929.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle E. Harman; her step-son, J. Scott Harman; her brothers: Allen, Bill, Donald and Bobby Skillman, and her sister, Elizabeth S. Hall.
Betty is survived by her son, David A. Via of Barren Ridge; daughter, Susan Via Williams of Hampton; step-sons, L. Anthony “Tony” Harman (Vicki) and Christopher P. Harman (Joi Brown) of Waynesboro, and step-daughter, Kimberly H. Mace (Dale) of Grottoes. She is also survived by grandchildren, Kara P. Via and Seth A. Via and a number of step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Betty was a wonderful, kind lady and the best mother and friend one could ever hope for. She was an avid gardener, bird watcher, animal lover and a fan of television westerns. Her beloved Golden Retriever, Maggie, will be waiting for her at the Rainbow Bridge, tail wagging.
