Anna B. DeKnight, who genuinely saw the best in others, left this world peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Augusta Health, Fishersville at the age of 96. She was a resident of The Regency at Augusta Senior Living, Fishersville, Virginia.

But her real passion was serving as a docent for more than 30 years at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Her other memberships included the American Association of University Women and the American Wine Society.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edward William DeKnight.
Survivors include her children, Eileen Wittwer (Fred) of Nellysford, Virginia, Robert DeKnight (Carol) of Winchester, Virginia and Thomas DeKnight (Diane) of Folly Beach, South Carolina; her seven grandchildren, Scott Wittwer, Greg Wittwer, James Wittwer, Allison Young, Joe DeKnight, Brittany DeKnight and Jennifer DeKnight and eleven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is planned for the spring. Inurnment will be with her husband in Arlington National Cemetery.
