Alee Lucy Washington

 Alee Lucy Washington, 84, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 17, 2020 in Staunton, Virginia.

Alee was born on January 31, 1936 in Hermitage, Virginia.

She worked faithfully in the Waynesboro Public School System for 36 years until retirement.

She was a fun-loving person, always laughing, life of the party and enjoyed dancing. Everyone that met and knew Alee could feel her free spirit and see the love she had in her smile. To know Alee was to love Alee. Her presence will be missed on this earth, but her family and all who knew her will find confidence in knowing she is shining down from above. Always loved and forever missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Rose; daughter, Brenda Wallace; grandson David Jones; brothers, William T Woods, Robert Woods and a sister Clara McCarthy.

She is survived by her daughters, Alesia Jones (Ronald Jones) of Charlotte, NC; Benford Wallace (Eddie Wallace Sr.) of Waynesboro, VA; Mozelle Henderson of Waynesboro, VA; grandchildren, Jeremiah Jones Sr. (Teryn Jones) of Charlotte, NC, Andrea Dudley (Timothy Dudley) of Waynesboro, VA; Kendrall Washington of Craigsville, VA; Rhonda Fields (Kelly Fields) of Indian Land ,SC, Eddie Wallace Jr. (Lindsey Wallace) of Stuarts Draft, VA , Mario Washington (Lauren Washington) of Crozet, VA, Michelle Morris (Michael Morris) of Waynesboro VA, Melinda Tanner (Quinton Tanner) of Waynesboro, VA;  Great Grandchildren Kendsais Washington, Iyana Wilson, Asigeyana Carter, Shania Carter, Caleb Fields, Trey and Layla Wallace, Quinn Washington, Jeremiah Jr., Tyren Jones, Joshua Holmes, Quinton Tanner Jr.; great-great-grandchildren; Kyi’den Washington, Kaior Washington and a host of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

The family will receive friends (following mandated regulations due to COVID-19) at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

A private interment will be held at Augusta Memorial Park.
