A beautiful life came to a close on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at 1:00am in Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.
Adriene heard her Master’s call to come home and she answered. She’s home, free from sickness, sorrow and pain.
Although everything was done to prolong her life, this was God’s will.
Adriene was the daughter of the late George and Catherine Ford. She was born in Buckingham, Virginia on January 22, 1965.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael (Tick) Ford and a sister, Karen (PeeWee) Gay.
She graduated from Reading Senior High School. She was employed at Reading Hospital in Reading, Pennsylvania and at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Adriene accepted Christ at a very young age. She had a beautiful singing voice.
Adriene leaves her cherished, loving, and devoted husband, Donnie Armstrong of 20 years; son, Daniel Ford and his wife, Tasha; grandson, Jahsere; great-grandson, Zyrias Ford; step-daughter, Tamara; three step-grandchildren and her brother, Buck Maxie; aunts, Bertha Britt and Margaret (Zitt) Ford; her sister-cousin, Lisa Britt and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 26, 2026 from 12:30pm to 1:00pm and where a celebration of her life will be held 1:00pm in the chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.
A limb has fallen from our tree. I keep hearing a voice that says “Grieve not for me.” Remember the best times, the laughter, the song. The good life I lived while I was strong. Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you. Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through. My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how I truly was blessed. Continue traditions, no matter how small. Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls. I will miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin, until the day comes we’re together again.
