Thomas Wayne "Tommy" Thurston

Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Thurston, 74, of Crimora, passed away, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home. He was born September 13, 1942, in Crozet, son of the late Thomas Wayne Thurston and Catherine Harlow Thurston.

Tommy, a retired auto mechanic, was retired from Merchants Tire.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death his son, Dennis; one brother, Roger; three sisters, Sharon, Polly and Jean and one grandson, Allen.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thurston; his daughter, Leslie Frazier of Amherst; three grandchildren, Ashley, Adam and Brittnany; three great-grandchildren, Travis, Cody and Rachel; one sister, Sherri Ryan of Gordonsville; a number of nieces and nephews and a special niece, Susie LeBlanc.

Funeral services and entombment will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the Mausoleum in Augusta Memorial Park, conducted by The Rev. Jerry Cline.  Family and friends will gather at the cemetery for the service.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Wednesday, September 13th, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville.
