Stephanie Catherine (Miller) Groves

Stephanie Catherine Groves, 60, of Waynesboro, entered the gates of heaven on March 20, 2017 in Charlottesville.  She was born September 4, 1956, in Washington, DC, to Mary Miller and the late James Miller.

Stephanie was a 1974 graduate of McLean High School and she went on to attend classes at George Washington University and NOVA Community College.  She worked for the Department of the Navy for 6 years before transferring to the Internal Revenue Service where she served as a Revenue Officer for 32 years. She loved watching her children play sports, travelling, swimming, gardening, cooking, laughing and cutting the grass.  In her spare time, she delivered Meals-On-Wheels and was involved in many activities at her children’s schools.

Stephanie is survived by her husband, Randolph Harrison Groves, Jr., of Waynesboro; her son, Randolph Harrison Groves III and fiancé, Sarah Toman; her daughter, Deborah Marie Groves; her mother, Mary Miller; her sister, Mary Lewandowski-Rekow and husband, Marlin Rekow and a brother, Stephen Miller.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Miller

Funeral services will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 300 Maple Avenue, Waynesboro, at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 30, 2017, with The Rev. Rollo B. Castillo, Pastor, officiating.  Burial will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
