Shirley Jane Hall

Shirley Jane (Moomau) Hall, of Staunton, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones in her home January 3, 2020.

She was born August 15, 1938 in Staunton, daughter of William Beane and Erline Virginia (Miller) Moomau.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years Bobby Lee Hall and her sister Virginia Erline Sisson.

Shirley devoted her life to her husband, daughters, family and friends.  She loved socializing with others and growing beautiful plants. She leaves Willow, Mickey & Cloudy, her beloved Siamese cats.   

Prior to retirement she worked as a CNA at Oak Hill Nursing Home in Staunton VA.  Her passion for caring for others was endless.

Family members include three daughters and sons-in-law’s, Joannie and David Kramer, Connie and Daryl Harper, and Ginger and Edward Toman, four grandchildren, Stephanie Elise Toman, Jakob Ephraim Hall Toman, Ariel Lynn Harper, and Dylan Hall Kramer and three great grandchildren, Cameron, Julien, and Alana.  She leaves her special niece Teresa Benson and her husband Tommy. She also leaves her beloved sister-in-law Brenda Spencer and husband Bill; her sister Bonnie Jean Dutton and brother, William Beane Moomau Jr., David and Judith Bailey and their families. Shirley’s family also included Sue Reese, Kim Cormier, Sheryl Swisher, Timothy Hoover and his wife Amber.

A special thank you to Dr Velji and his team at Augusta Health Cancer Center and mom’s hospice team for their kindness. 

In lieu of flowers, our mom Shirley would like you to enjoy time with your family and friends.  Mom was a special person and will be missed by many.

Family night will be Friday, January 17, 2020 from 7 to 9 pm at the residence of David and Joannie Kramer in Fishersville, VA.  A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 2:00pm, at ClearView Church 307 W. Main Street (downtown) Waynesboro, VA with Pastor John Hamric, officiant.  Private interment will be held at Oakwood Cemetery, Staunton, VA.
