Ruth Ailene “Miss Ruthie” Zimmerman, 90, of Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehab Center, Staunton, went to be with her Lord, early Tuesday morning, January 30, 2018. She was born March 13, 1927, in Waynesboro, daughter of the late Roy and Annie Price.
Miss Ruthie was a hard worker who loved to cook; she loved God and her family and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church, Waynesboro. She loved to sing and teach songs to others.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Leo Zimmerman; daughter, Linda Claytor; son, Emory Zimmerman; two brothers, Glen Price and Stanley Price and one sister, Juanita Johnson.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Kings Daughters for their loving care.
She is survived by her son, Edward Zimmerman and wife, Mary of Waynesboro; her two daughters, Carolyn Fitzgerald and husband, Bobby of St. Marys, Georgia and Edith Hoover and husband, Mike of Staunton; one brother, Roy Price of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two sisters, Nancy Heath of Grottoes and Mary Striano of Staunton; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special friend, Debbie Neville.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018, in the chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Joey Locklear and Pastor Richard Owen. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 1st.
