Orlena Maxine Wright Wells

Orlena Maxine Wright Wells, age 97, of Stuarts Draft, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Fishersville.

She was born on April 26, 1922 in Canton, Ohio and Graduated from Bob Jones College in 1945.

She worked and retired as a caregiver.

Orlena enjoyed reading, playing the piano, she was devoted to and loved her family, traveled all over the world, and was known to be a gourmet cook.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence A. Wright and Hazel E. Nosker Wright; her siblings Lois, Glenn, and Dorothy; and her husband, Donald W. Wells, Sr.

Orlena is survived by her son Donald Wells, Jr and Amy Wells of Waynesboro, her daughter Dawn Hesse and Dale Hesse of Waynesboro; her grandchildren, Matthew Hesse of Waynesboro, Alexander Hesse of Waynesboro, Leia Hesse Smith and Christopher Smith of Waynesboro, Donald Wells, III and Stase Wells of Fredericksburg, VA Sommer Wells of Charlotte, NC; her great-grandchildren, Garrett Smith, Kylie Smith, Madison Wells, and Kennedy Wells; Sister-in-law, Glenna Smoot of Ohio; nephew Wake Smoot and Shari Smoot of Maryland, nephew Wayne Rohrer of Florida; niece Pam Delaney of Ohio and great niece Monica McClellan of Ohio. Mrs. Wells is also survived by her special friend and caregiver Leslie Moon Bishop, and special friend Patricia Wells of North Carolina.

A special thanks to Augusta Nursing & Rehab staff, unit 2 nurses, aides, and therapists; and Hospice of the Shenandoah, especially Carol, Joy, and Adrienne.

Pastor Daniel Wine will officiate a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2 pm at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939... Family will receive friends at 1 pm.
