Marjorie Pool Adcock, 70, of Waynesboro, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 28, 1947 in Halifax, Virginia, daughter of the late Richard Nathaniel and Hattie Davis Pool.
Marjorie was a Pre-admissions Technician at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center, where she served from 1991 until her retirement in 2014. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro and was involved in Habitat for Humanity. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard Pool, Ralph Pool and Otha (Bud) Pool.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Ronald Thomas Adcock; her son, Blane Adcock of Alexandria; two daughters, Heather Flitsch of Pittsburgh and Jessica McCray of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, McKaila McCray, Thomas Becker Adcock, Savannah Mae Flitsch, Britton McCray, Scarlett Adcock, Liam Flitsch and Caroline McCray; one brother and two sisters, Ryland Pool, Esther Carver and Janis Shotwell all of Roxboro, North Carolina and her Ya-Ya sisters, Barbara Hamrick, Vicki Haymes and Velma Hanger.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00PM, Friday, December 28, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 30l S. Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, with The Rev. Phil Bailey officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church’s fellowship hall until 7:00PM.
