Loraine Frances (Metzger) Wefing

Loraine Frances Wefing, 101, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 8, 2017, at Augusta Nursing and Rehab Center, Fishersville.  She was born November 17, 1916, in Dallas, Texas the daughter of the late Adolph Metzger and Margaritta Metzger and the wife of Ulie Thomas Wefing, Sr. who passed away October 12, 1964.

Following her graduation from St. Joseph Academy in Dallas, Texas she attended Commercial Art School for three years.  Her interests were art, jewelry making and ceramics. She was a retired insurance supervisor. Loraine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Staunton, Virginia.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Wefing; her grandson, John Ozyjowski; her son-in-law, Mike Ozjowski; her great-grandson, Max Slingerline and her daughter-in-law, Patti Wefing; her siblings, Estelle Metzger, The Rev. Adolph Metzger, OMI, Sister Rita Marie Metzger, Rita White and The Most Reverend Samuel Metzger all of Dallas, Texas.

She is survived by her son, Tom Wefing of Bethlehem, PA; her daughters, Eva Ozyjowski of Stuarts Draft, Laura Murowski and her husband, Dick of South Elgin, Illinois, Kathy Niemtschk of Loudon, Tennessee and Sylvia Para and her husband, John of Booton, New Jersey; fifteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two long-time friends, Zigie Rogers and Debbie Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017, in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville with The Rev. Monsignor Andrew Cassin, officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Dallas, Texas.
