Linwood Lockett entered eternal rest on Tuesday, May 8,2018 at Charlottesville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Charlottesville, VA.
He was born in Charlottesville, Virginia on June 25,1939, son of the late Ruth Lockett-Adams.
Linwood was predeceased by his mother; Ruth Lockett-Adams and his grandparents; Reverend James Henry Lockett, Sr. and Mrs. Marry Emma Green-Lockett.
He was an Army Veteran and served in Germany and Vietnam War. He also served in the National Guard in Washington D.C. prior to his retirement, also fulfilling the duty if a Financial Officer in the Army.
Linwood was baptized at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Greenwood, Virginia where he spent most of his childhood years. He graduated from Jackson P. Burley High School in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He enjoyed reading, talking on his CB, fishing, eating seafood, working in the yard and spending time with his friends. He mostly enjoyed traveling, meeting people with his wife of 34 years.
He leaves his loving wife, Henrietta and four children; Shawn, Estavia Lockett – Moore (Jerome) of Connecticut, Linwood Lockett Stephanie Lockett Brooks, of Connecticut, three step children; Roma Gordan, Bernard (Christina) and Vincent Morton, of Maryland. Two aunts; Tressie Boyd and Edna Lockett of Avon, Virginia. Eighteen grandchildren one great-grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.
