Josephine Patsy Lawson Wagner

Josephine Patsy Lawson Wagner, 80, of Waynesboro, died peacefully Friday, September 21, 2018 in Fishersville. She was born on May 13, 1938 in Waynesboro, VA.

Josephine was preceded in death by her parents John Pearl Lawson and Nettie Katherine Henderson Lawson; her husband, James O. Wagner, Jr.; and grandson Christopher L. Pforr.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed word puzzles, watching her westerns and soap operas, gardening and collecting antiques.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Continuing Care, Kayla Batman, Tonya Crawford, Dr. Robert Taylor, and all the members of aging services.

She is survived by four children, Randy L. Lawson, George E. Pforr of Stuarts Draft, Susan I. Pforr of Fishersville, and Ellen ( Dale) M. Burford of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren, Melinda Corbett, Robert Pforr, Cody Pforr, Jessica Lawson, Camren Burford, Brianna Burford, and Tanner Burford; seven great-grandchildren; Jakob Corbett, Justin Corbett, Branden Corbett, Miah Pforr, Mailani Pforr, Jordan Lambert, Zane Charlton; brother, John Edward Lawson of Verona; nieces and nephews, Shane and Melissa Lawson, Jamie Lawson, Jennifer Dilley, John Shane Lawson, Jr., Brian Morris, Brittaney Lawson, and Timmy Burford. Josephine is also survived by special friends Arleen Goldman, Ella Fisher, Kathy Davis, and Jeff Brown.

Graveside service to be announced at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave. Waynesboro, VA 22980 with Pastor Mark Wingfield officiating. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 355 Rio Rd. W.
