Joseph Ray "Joey" McCauley

Joseph Ray McCauley 59, of Waynesboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Sat, June 9, 2018, in the midst of God’s beautiful creation.

He was born, August 23, 1958, in Waynesboro, to the late Samuel and Gladys McCauley.  In addition to his parents, Joey was preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Fletcher; two brothers, Danny and Sammy McCauley.

Joey will forever be remembered as an avid fisherman, outdoorsman and auto racing enthusiast.  Joey was always quick to help those in need and known to have gifts as a welder, mechanic and carpenter.

He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving sister, Kay Coyner and husband Kevin; nephews, Jeffrey and Chris Shackelford; DJ and Tracy McCauley, nieces, Sarah McCauley; Amanda Hashagen and husband, Scott; great niece, Brooke Weeks; lifelong friend, Bonnie Lunsford; as well as countless friends and loved ones.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, with Pastor and lifelong friend, Danny Fisher officiating.  Family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30pm.
