Jacqueline D. Horton,71, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday evening, March 1, 2018, at UVA-Hospice of the Piedmont Center for Acute Care, Charlottesville. She was born March 31, 1946, in Palm Beach, Florida.
Jacqueline served as Chaplain for the Waynesboro Police Department and was Volunteer Transportation Coordinator for Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) in Waynesboro. She was a member of Fishersville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of almost 52 years, Carl H. Horton, Sr.; her son, Carl H. Horton, Jr., and his wife, Debbi of Virginia Beach; her grandson, Carl H. Horton, III and her sister, Carolyn Jean Pennington of Kingsport, Tennessee.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Oak Lawn Memory Gardens, 1921 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton, conducted by her Pastor, The Rev. Charles F. Bates. The Waynesboro Police Department will serve as active pallbearers. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery for the service.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville.
