Harold M. Shevitz, RPh, age 80, of Waynesboro, VA passed away on March 29, 2018.

Born October 11, 1937 in Salisbury MD to the late David M. and Jean (nee Weiss) Shevitz. The family moved to Hackettstown, NJ in 1940. Harold graduated from the New York Military Academy in 1954. He earned his Bachelor’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University and in 1958 graduated from Pharmacy School at the Medical College of Virginia. He began his career in pharmacy in Lynchburg, VA, then moved to Broomall, PA in 1961. He worked for Happy Harry’s for over 35 years in Delaware. He continued his career in pharmacy in Ocean City, MD, Salisbury, MD and Waynesboro, VA, retiring after 50 years in the industry.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Alice Odom Shevitz (nee Brown), his loving children Jill E. Adaman, Scott D. Adaman (Lisa), Michael A. Adaman (Carol), Dorian Shevitz (Julie), Sherril Stinnett, Beth Eriksson (Karl) and Victoria Moody. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Adaman (Rebecca), Jonathan Fretwell, Kalen Eriksson, Merry Eriksson, Melissa Shevitz, Lily Eriksson, Madeline Shevitz, Dillon Stinnett, Jessica Shevitz, Jacqueline Shevitz and Joseph Shevitz; his 3 great-grandchildren and his brother, Stewart Shevitz (Lynda). Harold was predeceased by his brother Richard L. Shevitz.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation, Monday, April 2 from 1:00 to 2:00pm at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr. Fishersville, VA followed by his Funeral Service at 2:00pm in the chapel. Interment to follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
