To the family of Harold Lawson, "Geno". I have known Gene for about 10-12 years. I working for Rickingham County SO for over 17 years. I got to know him better after I retired, and we became friends on FB. I will not be able to make visitation or the funeral, as my husband has surgery on Tuesday, in Charlottesville, early. I do want to tell you guys how very much I will miss seeing the real Gene from his posts in FB. He loved his brother, and tried to make his life better. He was such a funny guy, and a lot of time, I started my day, laughing at something he had posted. Will miss him.

Gene was our bailiff at the Rockingham County Circuit Court. He was a joyous man and one who had a way of making you smile no matter what type of day you had. He loved to laugh and I liked to laugh and joke with him He took his job very seriously and he did an outstanding job. He was our line of defense at the door as citizens entered the courthouse and were checked for prohibited items. He was proud of his work and he served the public well. I will miss him and all the great things about him My prayers are with his family and Kim as you say goodbye to a truly great man. May the happy memories see you through the days ahead.

Having known Gene for decades through Lodge 13 FOP, it is with a heavy heart that I write this message. He was a unique man and will be missed by all that knew him. May the memories of time spent with him help ease the pain his loved ones are feeling. Rest easy, Gene.
