Eva Jo (Colley) Whitley

Eva Jo Colley Whitley of Staunton, passed peacefully on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 21 years, James (Jim) Whitley, her parents, Rose Wells Colley and Paul W. Colley, Sr. and a brother, Paul Colley, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Christopher (Jill) Whitley of Zion Crossroads, Kandy (Barry) Staples of Crimora, and Robert Whitley of Staunton; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Colley of Greensboro and Nancy Whitley of Bristol; her grandchildren, Nicholas (Janet) Whitley, Jacob Whitley and Elizabeth Whitley; great–granddaughters, Kendra-Lin and Adalynne Whitley.

Eva loved her work and family at the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind and retired after 30 years of service. Eva was a kind soul who loved her family dearly and was loved by all who knew her. She enjoyed playing with her great-granddaughters and loved tending her flowers. The family would like to thank the staff of Waynesboro Manor, Avante Waynesboro and Augusta Medical Center for their loving care.

A celebration of life will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Mahanaim United Methodist Church, 32042 Taos Ln, Meadowview, VA 24361.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
